The History & Background of Guggul EZ100

Guggul EZ100 has been used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine. There are different types, and the E and Z types seem to be most active. Guggul contains Guggulsterones, which are said to be the things that “work the magic.” These magic are listed below:

– Optimizes Basal Metabolic Rate
– Decreases number and size of skin blemishes
– Positive effects on blood lipids
– Increases fat loss
– Optimizes thyroid gland function

It is specially made Guggul Extract. People who have taken it have revealed that Guggul EZ 100 can lower your cholesterol level and increase your metabolism – just what we need to start burning unwanted fat stores in our body. Guggul EZ 100 supports the thyroid gland to run more efficiently to promote weight loss. Cut the fat, not the muscles!

Use in Supplements

Studies show that Guggul EZ100 maintains normal blood lipid levels, supports a refined skin texture by decreasing the appearance of blemishes, and optimize thyroid gland function and supports fat loss and body weight. Importantly, it won’t strip away your muscle like other weight loss products. It is also known to treat some acne and work about as well as the antibiotic tetracycline in the treatment of nodulocystic acne. Both treatments decrease pain, swelling, and inflammation, and the number of acne outbreaks.

Added use of Guggul EZ100 is to fight obesity; research suggests that taking a combination of Guggul, phosphate, hydroxycitric acid, and L-tyrosine, along with proper exercise and a reduced-calorie diet, reduces weight.

Common Dosing

Guggul EZ100 has been traditionally used for weight loss. Potential Side Effects of Guggul EZ100

As for the side effects of Guggul EZ100, it may have some blood-thinning effects, and there is even a case report of liver failure after taking a supplement that contained it. However, Guggul was not the only ingredient in that supplement, so it is unknown if Guggul did this or not.

If taken in high doses such as 6000 mg per day, it can cause stomachaches, headaches, nausea, vomiting, loose stools, diarrhea, belching, and hiccups. Guggul can also cause allergic reactions such as rash and itching.

FAQs

Is there a dangerous amount of Guggul which will cause health problems?

Potential adverse effects include allergic rash, gastrointestinal upset. Guggul may have a blood-thinning property and so should not be used in combination with other blood thinners or before surgery. Guggul also may have thyroid stimulating effects.

Does the FDA regulate Guggul?

No, it is listed as a food supplement, many herbal products are not regulated by the fda.

How much Guggul should I take per day to lose weight?

Guggul has been traditionally used for weight loss, however, the best results will be achieved in combination with proper diet and daily physical activity. A standard dose would be 500 mg twice a day of standardized extract.

Does Guggul help with thyroid problems?

One of the effects of guggul (commiphora mukul) is that it may stimulate the thyroid. Therefore if the problem is that the thyroid is not working well (hypothyroid) it could possibly help. More studies are needed for this usage.

Will taking guggul help with my cholesterol level?

The jury is still out on this one. Several studies show guggul lowers cholesterol 10-27%, but a 2003 study in Jama showed no reduction in cholesterol, though that study showed it reduced fasting blood sugar, blood pressure & c-reactive protein. It may be that guggul will lower cholesterol more when combined with a low fat diet.

Studies

One study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association in 2003, noted that Guggul did not help weight loss. Researchers gave 103 people 3000 to 6000 mg guggul extract  – which is far more than is in Apidexin.

In carefully planned studies carried out for two years on rabbits, in which hyperlipidemia was induced by feeding cholesterol, it was demonstrated for the very first time that crude Guggulu could not only lower the serum cholesterol significantly in hypercholesterolemic rabbits but also protected these animals against cholesterol-induced atherosclerosis at the fatty streak stage. It also reduced the bodyweight of the animals.

A similar study also showed Guggul reduce the serum cholesterol levels in patients with obesity and hypercholesterolemia significantly.

The hypolipidemic activity of Guggulu and its various fractions has been studied in several animal models and clinical studies. Initial studies reported that crude Guggulu has encouraging hypolipidemic activity in rabbits. This activity was also confirmed in other animals, including white leghorn chicks, domestic pig, Presbytis monkey, and albino rat.
